About the Opportunity
Galambila Aboriginal Health Service currently has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and experienced Male Aboriginal Mental Health Worker to join their dedicated team in Coffs Harbour.
Reporting to the Team Leader Clinic Support Team, the successful applicant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement client focused group therapy workshops as part of Galambila's social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) service stream.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be male (under Section 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 NSW) and of Aboriginal descent (under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997 NSW).
To be successful in this role, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the complexity of Aboriginal traditional culture and history, and the impact that culture and history has on the provision of mental health services to Aboriginal clients. You will either hold, or be willing to undertake studies in, tertiary qualifications in a mental health related field.
