Aboriginal Accommodation Support Worker



* Part Time Position Available

* Located in Mt Druitt and Blacktown & Toongabbie

* Sleep Over and Support Shifts Required

M180 has developed into one of the largest service providers for youth at risk in Australia today. We provide services to over 4,000 young people and their families every year. Each night, we accommodate over 600 young people in our Residential and Settlement Support Services.



We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Worker / Accommodation Support Workers (ASW) to assist our young people in crisis accommodation to achieve their goals. The Accommodation Support Worker will be responsible for;



* Providing safe, stable accommodation to homeless young people aged between 12 and 22 years.

* Role modelling positive behaviour and engaging with the young person to develop their social skills through mentoring.

* Actively participate in the development and implementation of a case plan to assist the young person and their family to break the cycle of homelessness.

* Understanding the trauma these young people face and

* Confidently managing any challenging behaviours



As a Accommodation Support Worker you will be required to work various hours including both sleepovers and support shifts. You shall be asked to transport young people to and from appointments as well as completing domestic duties such as implementing a chore roster, menu planning, cooking, and cleaning and property maintenance. Finally, as part of this role you must maintain up to date records and documentation in line with policy and legislative framework.



To be considered for this position it is essential you have:



* Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent

* Current NSW Drivers Licence

* NSW Working with Children Check

* Min. 12 months experience working with young people with challenging behaviours

* High level of computer literacy and report writing skills
