 Job Description
What does an EO "Recruitment Advertising Specialist" do exactly?

Have you ever read a really lame job ad? Poorly written, dry, didn't give you an idea of the role or the organisation at all... maybe more about "what's in it for the employer" with no reference to "what's in it for the employee"?

How about a kick-ass job ad? One that drew you in, gave you the information you needed to help you decide whether or not to apply, and was crystal-clear in terms of who would (and wouldn't) be the right person for the job. One that was exciting! Maybe the ad you're reading right now is one of those. *wink wink*

Seriously though - some recruitment ads simply jump out from the screen. They're effective for both the prospective applicants and the employer because they're honest, they hit the mark in terms of who should apply for the role and they're placed on relevant ad channels to attract the right candidates. These ads get people who are the right fit for the role, excited.

This job is about coordinating those kinds of recruitment advertising campaigns; from taking client briefs and writing the ads, to creating and executing strategies to get your ads in front of the right people.

Will you LOVE this role?

Emphasis on the LOVE. It's not going to work for you, or us, if you don't love what you're doing and where you're doing it.

Here are some qualities that make up a person who's going to succeed:

1 Someone who is organised with impeccable attention to detail. To put it plainly, mistakes just can't happen in this role. It is entirely possible to do this work without making mistakes if a high level of attention to detail comes naturally to you.

2 Someone with excellent grammar, and a bit of a way with words. You don't need formal writing qualifications - if you read a lot as a kid and teenager, and/or if you've always got a book on the go as an adult, that's a good sign.

3 Someone who can take a client brief. You know how to ask the right questions to get the information you need, and how to pick out the important details from a conversation with a client.

4 Someone with an understanding of how to position roles to attract the right people. You'll have knowledge of the recruitment industry and process (1-2 years of recruitment experience would be ideal), and know when and where to place advertising to catch the eye of relevant candidates.

5 Someone who is highly professional. This includes being well presented (corporate attire) at all times, and professionalism in how you interact with colleagues, job seekers and clients.

6 Someone looking for a career, not just a job. Sorry to use a cliché, but it's true. If you're applying for this position with a < 18-month mindset or a sense of "I'll give it a go and see what happens", it's not the right one for you. We invest in our people and give high performers opportunities that many other employers don't - so we need you to invest in us.

7 Someone with ENERGY and ENTHUSIASM! These attributes are dear to the heart of EO. We want people with a zest for life, and passion for what they're doing.

Why should you join our team?

Recruitment matters. Our clients can't grow and outperform their competitors if they don't have the right people (and the best people) working for them. This role is instrumental to helping our clients find these stars. Equally, it is the work you'll do that puts members of the public into jobs they love.

Our culture is also one of ownership and autonomy, where we reward hard work and effort. You'll receive an attractive remuneration package made up of a retainer plus super and performance-based incentives that give you the opportunity to earn over and above your 'base'. You'll also love our monthly social nights - picture anything from learning how to paint a masterpiece while sipping wine, to singing our hearts out at karaoke - and have the chance to earn your ticket to our annual top performers conference at an exciting international location (this year we're headed to Japan!).

And that's not all! You'll find your new role to be extremely enjoyable, varied and interesting. Our open plan, spacious office enjoys full-length views of the Brisbane river and is located only a few minutes from the train, bus or City Cat terminal. We're also focused on the day to day factors that keep our wonderful team happy - fresh fruit and snacks, good coffee on tap and Nutribullets with everything you could possibly want to put in them.
